Tata Steel Ltd and ABB, a global technology leader, have formalized their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at jointly developing innovative solutions to reduce the carbon footprint associated with steel production.

Avantium is constructing a plant in the Netherlands to produce a new recyclable plant-based plastic called PEF by converting plant sugars. ABB has been chosen as the main electrical contractor for the project, which includes electrical design, eHouses, frequency converters, and commissioning. ABB also provided proactive consulting, and the successful collaboration has led to plans for future projects with Avantium and Worley.
