SOM-5788 is a COM-Express Basic Module with type 2 pin-outs that fully comply with the PICMG (PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group) COM Express standard. The new CPU module integrates an Intel® Core™ i7 / i5 / i3 processor with an Intel QM57 chipset. In a basic form factor of 125 mm x 95 mm, the SOM-5788 provides a scalable, high performance, easy-to-integrate solution for customers' applications by utilizing a plug-in CPU module on an application-specific customer solution board.

The SOM-5788 is a highly integrated multimedia COM module combining audio, video, and network functions. With a chipset that includes Intel Embedded Gen 5.75 GFx, full AVC, VC-1, and MPEG2 HW decode features, it provides high processing capability via an Intel® Core™ i7 / i5 / i3 processor, dual channel LVDS, HDMI, DVI and TV-out with hybrid multi-monitor capability up to 2048 x 1536 resolution (integrated and discrete graphics working simultaneously). SOM-5788 also supports PCI Express, Serial ATA and USB 2.0.

Strong, Time-saving Software APIs - iManager
Advantech’s software API and utilities enable the developer to write applications for hardware control quickly and easily, without having to know all the technical details of the driver or chipset architecture. In response to customer requests, SOM-5788 carries the newly designed hardware-controlled API library – iManager. Inheriting the original library from Advantech’s SUSI suite, it incorporates Hardware Monitoring, Watchdog, I2C, and GPIO. And, because it uses a hardware controller, iManager can remain functioning even if the system hangs.
