Pilz - When upgrading machinery

…don't gamble with CE marking!

Did you know that responsibility for machinery safety clearly lies with the operator and cannot be abdicated to the manufacturer?
Since the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC came into legal effect, operators are required to carry out the relevant conformity assessment procedures, particularly where upgrading or interlinking machinery is concerned. This applies to upgrade measures on existing machinery completed after 29.12.2009. If the measures represent a significant change, the conformity assessment procedure will need to be repeated.
