Lenze: I/O system on winning course

Lenze extends its leading I/O system with EtherCAT and PROFINET bus couplers, as well as counter modules

Users of the L-force I/O system 1000 product range from Lenze can now tap into the world of Ethernet-based bus systems. Alongside the bus couplers already available for the fieldbus systems CANopen and PROFIBUS, Lenze now also offers bus couplers for EtherCAT and PROFINET in its range. These allow users to fully exploit the high performance of the 48 MHz backplane bus on the I/O system and transfer data between the control xxxx and I/O systems at speeds of up to 100 MBit/s.
The EtherCAT bus coupler also supports the just released MDP specification (Modular Device Profile). The PROFINET bus coupler allows the Lenze I/O system to be integrated with all versions of PROFINET (e.g. PROFINET RT, PROFINET IRT).
Alongside the bus couplers, the new modules on offer include four counter modules (EPM-S600 to EPM-S603) for detection and processing of 24V and 5V DC pulses with various counting functions and an encoder module (EPM-S604) for connection of an SSI coder.
The basic principle of the modular system – with the connection level and electronics mechanically isolated – has also been maintained in this latest extension of the product portfolio. In the event of maintenance work, the electronic module can be replaced quickly and easily using elements which have a width of just 12.5mm. As a result there is no need to disconnect the wiring.
