Prosilica Releases Ultra-High Resolution CCD Camera

GE4900 is Highest Resolution Prosilica Camera

Prosilica is proud to announce the release of its highest resolution camera ever! The 16-megapixel GE4900 runs 3 frames per second at 4872 x 3248 pixel resolution over a GigE Vision-compliant Gigabit Ethernet interface. This ultra-high resolution industrial digital camera incorporates a Kodak KAI-16000 progressive scan CCD sensor with electronic global shutter suitable for capturing high-speed motion events. Exposure times are programmable from 1/100,000 to 60 seconds.

The GE4900 offers advanced functionality including asynchronous external trigger and sync, automatic exposure and white-balance, region of interest read-out, binning modes to 8x8, and a wide range of other features suitable for machine vision and image processing. Applications include LCD panel inspection, aerial imaging, industrial inspection, 3D measurement, specialized traffic and public security, and other applications requiring very high resolution images.

Available in either monochrome or color models, the GE4900 provides uncompressed digital output in Mono8, Mono16, Bayer8, or Bayer16 image formats. The 12-bit A-to-D provides very high-quality images to meet the most demanding applications.

“The GE4900 appears to be the smallest 16-megapixel CCD camera in its class continuing Prosilica’s tradition of ultra-small cameras” says Prosilica CEO, Marty Furse. “Its small size, low power consumption, GigE interface, and very high resolution make it unique in the market and suitable for a broad range of applications.”

The Gigabit Ethernet interface of the GE4900 complies with the GigE Vision™ standard and provides many benefits such as plug-and-play ease of installation and use, very long cable length, and excellent data integrity.

Prosilica's customer-acclaimed SDK works on Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Linux, and QNX operating systems with support for both Intel- and Power PC-based platforms. For users that prefer third party imaging libraries and applications, Prosilica’s GigE Vision cameras are plug-and-play compatible with software from Matrox, National Instruments, Stemmer Imaging, Norpix, MVTec, and others.
