Chainflex® continuous-flex cables from igus® Inc. are specifically designed for high-flexing applications on automated, mobile machinery and are the ideal partner for the company’s industry-leading Energy Chain® cable carriers. Igus offers a wide array of cable types such as data, bus and fiber optic. Chainflex CF9 and CF10 fall into igus’ family of more than 20 power and control cables. CF9 and CF10 are two of the most resistant cables to emerge from the bunch, as they are equipped with bare copper conductors and are fully resistant to oil, frost, chemicals and exceptionally low or high temperatures. Chainflex CF9 and CF10 feature a smaller bend radius than most cables—five times the outer diameter and sometimes less—due to the thin-wall design of both the conductor insulation and outer jacket. The insulation and outer jacket are made from flexible, anti-abrasive thermoplastic containing fire retardants for increased resistance. The non-porous outer jacket effectively repels oil and cutting fluids. Chainflex CF9 and CF10 operate within a permissible temperature range of –31 degrees Fahrenheit to +212 degrees Fahrenheit. CF9 is available in multi-conductor layouts from 24 to two AWG, while CF10 is offered from 26 to 12 AWG. Both cables are PVC- and halogen-free and UV-resistant. All Chainflex cables are equipped with a strain-reliving core and an outer jacket that is extruded over the conductors for a snug fit.
