NI Smart Cameras

National Instruments Smart Cameras combine a monochrome CCD image sensor with a real-time embedded PowerPC processor in a small, rugged package. Capable of acquiring VGA (640 x 480) images at up to 60 f/s, NI Smart Cameras work with the entire suite of vision algorithms available in the NI vision software platform. With these cameras, you can:

• Configure inspections in NI Vision Builder AI or program them in NI LabVIEW software
• Process images directly on the camera
• Read 1D and 2D codes, read and verify text, check for presence, detect edges, and much more
• Power current-driven LED light heads directly from the camera and use quadrature encoder support to simplify using the camera with linear and rotary drive systems (NI 1742 Smart Camera only)
