YAMAHA SCARA robots series YK-X is highly prized by the users because of its features such as sharply shortened cycle time, wide operating area, reduced installation space, and capability for complying with its environmental requirements as well as excellent cost-performance ratio and availability of model variations to meet various needs of users.

High rigidity / High speed
Use of aluminum extruded material ensures high rigidity. At the same time, the motor direct connection method is used for both Z and R axes. This contributes to increase the maximum operation speed by 20 to 27% with XY axes composition, 26% with the Z axis (for 200mm stroke) and 41% with the R axis while maintaining the 20kg payload.

Ease of use
As an absolute type resolver is used for the position detector, no return-to-origin action is needed, thereby the time lost at the start-up is reduced. Also, with 20 cables for the user use and 3 pipes ( 6) provided to the main unit as standard equipment, piping and wiring can be designed in a compact layout. In addition, if the special controller is used together, a program of complicated operation can be executed with ease.

Compactness
As the unit is light weight and compact, it gives more flexibility when designing the system. Use of aluminum extruded material for the body reduced the weight of the main unit by about 4 to 11%. In addition, by using a motor which is short in overall length in view of the height limit of the installation place, it was possible to design this unit with the shortest height among the same class models.

High accuracy
XY axes positioning accuracy is +/-0.02mm which is equivalent to the conventional models. It is possible to arrange an application that assemble small parts to comparatively large parts with high accuracy.

Easy maintenance
For the Z and R axes, the motor and reduction system are directly connected without a belt. Thus there is no need of readjusting the belt tension. Also, use of the long-life grease eliminates a concern of grease change.

Low cost
The new YK600XGH to 1000XG emphasize their design features and performance, and yet the cost reduction was pursued by reassessing the structure and parts. As a result, they are now available at more reasonable prices than the conventional models.

Full line-up
Selection is more varied since 600mm and 900mm models of 20kg payload are added. Each user can select suitable machine for their application.
