The new Modicon M340 programmable controller is concentrated power and innovation, responding perfectly to the demands of manufacturers of complex machines. Like its predecessors,Modicon M340 is configured under Unity Pro, positioning itself as the natural complement to Modicon Premium and Quantum in Transparent ReadyTM architectures for industry and infrastructures.

High-performance Modicon M340 is equally at home with boolean processing as with fixed or floating decimal calculations. With its 4MB internal memory, Modicon M340 can manage applications up to 70K instructions and 256KB data. Unique on the market, the processor integrates a USB port and two communication ports (CANopen, Ethernet or Modbus). Modicon M340 benefits from the vast experience of Telemecanique in counting, positioning and regulation, allowing you to express your specific requirements efficiently and simply.

Your data is automatically backed up in the internal Flash memory and your application in an SD Card. No battery is required, so you avoid the associated maintenance. The "Plug & Load" technology of the card enables easy updating of your application or transfer to other machines with no disruption of operation. You can also store data files (recipes, traceability) or maintenance files, easily accessed from a PC or by simple "drag-and-drop" via FTP.

Communicating, Modicon M340 assures programming of your applications via USB port or Ethernet.Wherever you are, you can access your machines in complete security via modem or standard ADSL serial link. Depending on the technology chosen, you can programme online, transfer your programmes, access data files and thanks to the embedded Web server, manage remote operation and diagnostics. Compact, Modicon M340 integrates easily in the tightest spaces thanks to its compact dimensions. Flexible, it accepts from 4 to 12 modules with maximum density of 64 channels per module. Each module is "hot swap" designed and automatically reconfigured by the CPU at replacement.

Rugged, Modicon M340 adapts to the most severe industrial environments, largely exceeding the limits imposed by the IEC standard. In addition, Modicon M340 conforms to the RoHS European Directive on environment protection.
