AMETEK introduces JOFRA temperature calibrators

AMETEK Test & Calibration introduced JOFRA RTC-158 and RTC-250 dry-block reference temperature calibrators.

The JOFRA RTC-158 and RTC-250 calibrators combine a liquid bath and a large diameter insert and are designed to calibrate odd sizes and shaped sensors or multiple sensors at once. The RTC-158 covers a temperature range of -22° to 155°C (-8° to 311°F), while the RTC-250 covers a higher temperature range of 28° to 250°C (82° to 482°F).
Both the RTC-158 and the RTC-250 feature Dynamic Load Compensation (DLC) that provides perfect temperature uniformity in the insert no matter the number or size of the sensors immersed. The calibrators also offer unique intelligent sensors for plug ‘n’ play connectivity, an easy-to-read full-color 5.7-inch VGA display, and a USB connection for improved communications and software downloads.
Three models are available: RTC-A reference temperature calibrator, RTC-B reference temperature calibrator with input for reference sensor, DLC sensor and sensors-under-test, and RTC-C reference temperature calibrator with input for reference sensor and DLC sensor. Along with the DLC sensor, the RTC-158/250 includes a sensor basket that prevents the sensors from interfering with the stirrer. AMETEK JOFRACAL software package comes standard on all models.
The RTC-158/250 is fitted with a 160mm (6.3 inch) deep well with a diameter of 63.5mm (2.5 inch), which is twice the size of any other dry-block calibrator. Either calibrator can be used both as a dry-block or liquid calibration bath with magnetic stirrer.
The RTC-158/250 can be used without an external reference sensor. However, users will obtain better accuracies and realize the calibrator’s full potential by utilizing the STS-200 (Superior Temperature Standard) reference sensor or the DTI-1000 reference thermometer.
Both the STS-200 and DLC sensors contain all individual calibration data regarding the sensor, allowing users to change the reference sensor and be up and running immediately. The STS-200 and DLC sensors also have been angled 90 o and customized so the top of the sensor is only slightly higher than the top of the calibrator. This unique design makes it possible for the RTC-158/250 to calibrate threaded sensors and sensors with connection heads.
The RTC-158/250 Series’ rugged, lightweight design features new multi-hole insert kits that cover most commonly known sensor sizes and a highly functional carrying case for improved portability and convenience. The specially designed carrying case makes it possible to store and protect DLC and reference sensors, inserts, support rods, wires, manuals, plugs and insert tools.
