Business aircraft crews and passengers can enjoy faster in-flight Internet access with the Honeywell HD-128 High Speed Data Unit (HSU).

The HD-128 HSU offers a 60W integrated high-power amplifier and two Inmarsat Swift64 channels. Using the Inmarsat Swift64 service, operators enjoy an increased packet data rate from the currently available 2.4 kilobits per second to 64 kilobits per second, per channel. By bonding the two Swift64 channels together, that rate can be doubled to 128 kbps, more than 50 times faster than what was previously available.

The HSU delivers improved onboard access to ground-based services and passenger productivity. Flight crew safety and efficiency is also enhanced through access to e-mail, Internet, video conferences, flight plans, electronic documentation updates and graphical weather information, as well as advance maintenance information.

The Gulfstream Service Center network has already installed the HD-128 HSU on four different Gulfstream model aircraft - the GIV, GV, G450 and G550 - as retrofit applications. The unit is form/fit replacement compatible with any aircraft currently equipped with a Honeywell SATCOM installation.
