MOXA - New IEC 61850-3 Ethernet Switches for Substation Communications

Moxa's new PowerTrans series is a line of IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 compliant Ethernet switches designed especially for communication networks in power substations. PowerTrans switches support IEEE 802.1W/D and Moxa's latest Turbo Ring technology with faster network fault recovery.

Additional features include fanless operation, wide temperature tolerances (-40° to 85°C), redundant and integrated power supplies, high EMI noise immunity, and 19-inch rack mounting. The modular design provides exceptional flexibility for almost any situation and application, and supports high port densities, fiber optic and Gigabit Ethernet connections, and rear or front wiring.

Features

• Layer 3 switch static routing, RIP V1 and V2
• IEC 61850-3, IEEE 1613 compliance
• NEMA TS2 compliance for traffic control systems
• EN50121-4 compliance for railway applications
• Turbo Ring, RSTP/STP for Ethernet redundancy
• Redundant power inputs supporting 24/48 VDC or 110/220 VDC/VAC
• Modular design supporting different media and port configurations
• -40° to 85°C operating temperatures
