Phoenix Contact has extended the Inline automation kit with Profisafe modules. The Inline Modular system allows for a flexible and application-specific configuration of digital and analog I/O channels, including the most common standard functions, like counters and circuit breakers, for example:

Depending on the bus coupler used, Profisafe modules of the Inline installation system can be operated in Profibus DP and Profinet applications, so that these networks can also profit from the advantages of safe Inline modules. This way, safety functions can be realized within Profisafe systems with the following requirements:

• Up to Category 4 in accordance with EN 954-1
• Up to SIL 3 in accordance with EN 61508 and EN IEC 62061
• Up to PL e in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1.
