New Developments in Series F Parallel Shaft Geared Motors

In series F parallel shaft geared motors, the tried and trusted UNIBLOCK concept with the benefits of the shaft mounted geared motors series A have been combined in one gear unit. This gear unit series offers both the side mounting surfaces as well as the support nose as torque arm combined in one housing. This modification relates to the previous parallel shaft geared motor sizes 110 – 136.

Parallel shaft gears with support nose as torque arm:

The housings in gear sizes F.. 110, 130 and 136 now also have a cast-on section for a support nose torque arm. This now allows us to offer a cost-effective shaft mounted model for parallel shaft gear units. The reactive force from the torque is derived via the support nose to the basic machine body. WATT also offers the matching rubber buffer sets required to avoid excessive fastening of the gear units. To make it easier to distinguish between the gear units, the type designations have been changed as follows:

F.. 110. ⇒ F.. 111.
F.. 130 ⇒ F.. 131.
F.. 136. ⇒ F.. 137.

Housing design:
Due to the more complex assembly and disassembly of gears in these sizes in the mono block housing design, an optimised version with 2 housing halves has been developed for F..111. – F..137. (see Figure 1).

This permits both the simpler and more efficient assembly process demanded by customers, as well as simpler disassembly. This version also conforms in full to the high quality requirements that Watt Drive has committed to as a manufacturer and which is highly prized by customers around the world.

Performance data:
All performance data according to catalogue MAS07 remain unchanged, such as:
• Permissible output torque M2
• Reductions i
• Thermal power limit Pt
• Permissible axial and lateral forces FaN, FrN

Connecting dimensions:
The varied range of connection options for parallel shaft gear motors FS. 110. – FS. 136. is extended with the optional torque arm support. The dimensions can be found in Figure 2 or Table 2.

Availability:
Size F.. 111. is available now. The changeover to the parallel shaft geared motors with support nose sizes F.. 131. and F.. 137. will take place during the first half of 2009.
