Twido™ Extreme Programmable Controller Weathers the Storm

Schneider Electric introduces the Telemecanique brand Twido™ Extreme programmable controller with IP67 rating, offering a solution for applications subjected to severe environmental conditions such as splashing water, oil, dust and vibration.

The new controller offers an “all-in-one” solution in a metal casing, 41 I/O and three communication ports, including Modbus Serial Port, CANopen and CAN J1939 Port. The Twido Extreme controller is powered with 12 VDC or 24 VDC power supply and is comprised of a base controller for integration in fixed-installation applications or for on-board mobile applications.

The Twido Extreme controller offers excellent resistance to extreme temperatures ranging from -40°F to + 230°F. It efficiently protects against over voltages, chemical and abrasive products, humidity, and vibration and shock. The new controller is easily programmed with TwidoSuite software, common to the entire Twido offer, significantly reducing development time. The Twido Extreme controller is especially suited for specialty vehicles including refuse collection, fire trucks, mobile cranes and cement mixer trucks.
The Twido family of controllers is hard-working, ultra-compact, and designed especially for small control systems. The line also is flexible, affordable and adaptable — and with the Twido Extreme controller, capable of withstanding exposure to the elements.

Schneider Electric’s Twido Extreme has been awarded the Plant Engineering 2008 Product of the Year recently in United States. The Plant Engineering magazine and website provides strategic manufacturing knowledge to help the plant manager operate his business efficiently, effectively and safely.
