After the successful launch of the ace seriesand the start of production at the end of March, ace acA640-100gm/gc and acA1300-30gm/gc models are being shipped every day, and of course, we are very happy about the huge interest in this camera series.

Basler has designed the ace series to make minimum power consumption demands. The acA640-100gm, for example, has a typical power consumption of only 2.0 watts when used at full resolution with PoE. In comparison to even recently released IEEE 1394b cameras with the same dimensions and the same sensor, the ace typically consumes around 20% less power. The strict design requirements regarding low power consumption have also resulted in a more moderate camera temperature and in better image quality due to the lower heat-related dark noise.

Basler ace cameras have all of the featuresrelevant for a digital camera used in our key markets, such as auto-functionality for gain and exposure, a look-up table, and chunk data. They also support the latest features for ITS applications including “multi-shot”, which allows the user to quickly capture a series of images using only one trigger pulse.
