In May 2010 Beckhoff presented its Automation UpDate in Germany (Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Balingen, Munich), Switzerland (Zurich) and France (Paris). Automation UpDate is a compact presentation and discussion series providing information on current developments and trends in automation technology. In May 2010 the focus was on TwinCAT 3, Motion Control and current Industrial PC technologies such as the Beckhoff Panel PC series in stainless steel design. Control topologies based on EtherCAT technologies also featured strongly in the Automation UpDate.

Roland van Mark, Industrial PC product manager and co-organiser of the tour, said: "Automation UpDate South attracted more than 400 participants, which is a clear indication of the significant interest in this initiative. In June 2010 the Automation UpDate series will continue in Spain and England, followed by Northern Germany, Denmark and Sweden in the autumn."
