Sydney, Australia – Namdeb selected Citect’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Ampla to help eliminate downtime by identifying the causes and locations of occurrences. Its real-time production reports for use in daily plant production meetings was also a factor in the selection. As a result of the successful implementation of Ampla at Elizabeth Bay Mine, Namdeb awarded

30 percent of total exports and 10 percent of its GDP. Situated in the desert sea bed, the Elizabeth Bay mine must shift millions of tons of sand and rock each year. Thus, Namdeb is continually seeking innovative ways to improve production and reduce costs.
Citect’s Professional Services, in accordance with ISO9001:2000 standards and Citect’s AdvantageOne methodology, implemented the Namdeb pilot, consisting of five Ampla modules: Downtime, Quality, Metrics, Maintenance and Production. These modules ensure peak efficiency operations by identifying where, how and why production delays occur. From timely manual interventions to exceptional dashboards, Namdeb can now track efficiency and production processes to help prioritize and optimize maintenance and uptime for productivity improvement.
Citect also assisted with support and maintenance at the site by providing operator and maintenance training that allows Namdeb employees to troubleshoot on their own.
“Our experience with the world’s leading mining companies granted Citect the ability to design Ampla 3.1 for the mining industry’s specialized needs,” says Colette Munro, Global Director, Ampla. “Namdeb understands how real-time intelligence supports operational excellence and implemented Ampla to obtain easy, real-time access to the data they need to achieve maximum efficiency.”
