Switch2Citect Now Provides Automated Conversion from 70% of Legacy SCADA Systems

Sydney, Australia – The release of Switch2Citect V1.2 provides automated conversion from over 70% of legacy SCADA systems to the reliable and flexible CitectSCADA system. Four new importers for Wizcon by Axeda, WinCC by Siemens, Genesis32 by Iconics and CIMPLICITY by GE Fanuc add to the existing range of importers for RSView, Fix32, iFix, InTouch and FactoryLink. The latest version of Switch2Citect also provides new graphical functionality to match or enhance existing graphics.

Switch2Citect provides an easy method to upgrade from one or multiple legacy systems to the latest technologies offered in CitectSCADA. Combined with Citect’s 30 years experience, CitectSCADA’s reliable architecture and guaranteed support upgrade path ensure that users have a SCADA system that can support future growth. In addition to the new importers available with Switch2Citect V1.2, this release includes a number of enhancements to make the conversions even better. For example, Switch2Citect can now import bitmaps from the legacy system and turn these into symbols inside CitectSCADA. These symbols are automatically used and re-used in the page conversion process. No longer do users have to edit multiple pages in their old system each time an image changes. Switch2Citect now includes support for rounded rectangles and gradient fills, and enhancements to the Style-sheet rules that increase the tools’ effectiveness by allowing improved custom conversions.
