KUALA LUMPUR, October 23, 2007 – Leso Instruments, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Leso Corporation Sdn Bhd and Malaysia’s first and only microscopy and video inspection systems (VIMS) is bullish about expanding its exports in the Asean region, India and members of the OIC over the next three years with the hope that export revenue from the anticipated growth would contribute up to 40% of its annual turnover.

Established in 2000, Leso Instruments has established a strong reputation both locally and overseas for its inspection and measuring systems under the RAXVISION brand with supplies exceeding 10,000 systems. Its director, Andy Goh attributed its success to its wide range of world-class products, excellent product quality and reliable knowledge based solutions to its customers. Fast exports of VIMS systems would be the key driver to meet the company’s target growth of 20% per year.

Leso’s exports of VIMS products in 2006 to Thailand, Phillipine, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Middle East and Africa contributed about 15-20% of company’s turnover. The projected turnover for 2007 is expected to reach RM14m, increasing to RM18m (2008) and RM22m (2009).

To meet the growing demand of VIMS systems, Leso Instruments has invested RM9.5m in a new 20,000 sq. ft manufacturing facility in Shah Alam, which is expected to complete by end January 2008. Of this, RM5m will be invested for purchase of high tech machinery and equipment.

The company is confident that participation in the MTS2007, scheduled to be held from Oct 24 to 28, with 1,100 companies from more than 20 countries will further enhance stronger marketing networks and wider outreach into global markets. Toping the list of Leso’s exhibits will be the RAXVISION systems software and TESA Metrology equipment.

Currently Leso Instruments boast a manufacturing and R&D facility in Penang with branches in Ipoh, Johor Bahru as well as Thailand and Philipines. Apart from its local brands, Leso Instruments also represents leading global brands such as TESA (Switzerland), Shimadzu (Japan), Hettich (Germany), Qualitest (USA) and JVC and Sometech (Korea), all of whom are major key players in the industry.
