FlexLink presents new solutions at Tabexpo 2007
 

Today’s manufacturing challenges create new opportunities for improvements in the tobacco manufacturing process. FlexLink has developed a new X85 conveyor and line control which allow dynamic speed control with soft starts and stops, gentle product handling and efficient line balancing at considerably lower power consumption.

The new conveyor platform will be launched at Tabexpo 2007, 26-29 November in Paris. Features of the X85 such as longest in class MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) and lowest in class noise level contribute to trouble free operation and good factory environment.

Space-saving filter buffer solution
FlexLink is also showing its latest incorporation of filter buffer solutions. The Flexal buffer unit permits a regularized production flow through its ability to accumulate and de-accumulate automatically, while keeping the efficiency of the line unaffected. The buffer is designed to automatically change its function depending on the production line’s current situation. If there is an excess of products in the line, the unit accumulates in its expanding belt reservoir and the accumulator goes into standby mode. Once the line has been cleared the Flexal restarts automatically and exits the products. There is also an alphanumeric display that allows real-time viewing of information of the progress of the work cycle and the status of the machine.

Paolo Pusceddu, Area Director for FlexLink EMEA South, notes: "The incorporation of the Flexal buffer in our standard range of products is very important as it fills up the gap of a smaller filter buffer. Our clients with smaller or specific production lines have asked us several times for this type of product.
