CK61G Helps U.S. Government Provide Timely Asset Visibility for Its Global Logistics Pipeline The Intermec (NYSE:IN) CK61G rugged mobile computer has been added to the U.S. Government's Automatic Identification Technology-III (AIT-III) contract. Intermec was awarded the contract in 2004 as part of the Government's Automatic Information Technology initiative, a basic building block in the department's efforts to provide timely asset visibility in its global logistics pipeline, whether in process, in storage or in transit. The CK61G will be used to provide visibility of assets throughout the Government's global logistics pipeline. The CK61G rugged mobile computer will most commonly be used for In-transit Visibility and Depot Repair applications for the U.S. government. The device is available with Microsoft Windows Mobile(TM) 5.0 Operating System. The CK61G is supported by advanced software development tools as well as Intermec's Developer Library, providing easy integration of unique hardware capabilities into custom applications. It utilizes a magnesium top cover and tough rubber bumpers at each corner to achieve extremely rugged environmental specifications. To ensure years of trouble-free service, the case is sealed against water and dust to IP64 standards and can withstand repeated six-foot drops. The addition of the CK61G rugged mobile computer is the latest in a 20-year partnership between Intermec and the U.S. Government. In 2004, Intermec was named prime contractor on a five-year contract to provide an entire range of automatic identification technologies. That contract, referred to as AIT-III and administered by the U.S. Army, supplies a complete line of advanced mobile computing, wireless communications, data collection systems and services -- all engineered to meet the most demanding military applications and to deliver unparalleled levels of efficiency and productivity -- to all federal agencies and branches of the U.S. Department of Defense worldwide. About Intermec Intermec Inc. (NYSE:IN) develops, manufactures and integrates technologies that identify, track and manage supply chain assets. Core technologies include RFID, mobile computing and data collection systems, bar code printers and label media. The company's products and services are used by customers in many industries worldwide to improve the productivity, quality and responsiveness of business operations.
