Airflow For More Power

MCS servo motors with axial-flow blower in IP54

Maximum torque and high dynamic performance with the stamina of a marathon runner – these are the attributes of Lenze's synchronous MCS servo motors. Until now, the stepped sizes in the series have covered rated torques of 0.5 - 51 Nm and rated powers of 0.25 - 10.0 kW. Now, the size 12, 14 and 19 motors can also be fitted with an axial-flow blower. This allows as much as 50 percent more power to be generated – up to 15 kW, and all this with IP54 protection.

Due to their power density and dynamic performance, the compact synchronous servo motors are often used in machine and systems engineering. The SEpT design (Single Element Pole Technology) of the motors, combined with high-energy magnets made from neodymium iron boron and specially designed poles, leads to a distortion-free, purely sinusoidal field of operation. The resulting effect on the motor shaft is high efficiency and extremely smooth running characteristics thanks to the greatest possible strengthening of the control loop without problematic cogging or detent torques.

Large bearings with high-temperature resistant permanent lubrication ensure a long service life. The fully encapsulated stator winding ensures that even strong vibrations do not affect the motors and that any heat loss is channelled to the motor surface as quickly as possible. Even during strong, continuous acceleration, the windings remain cool.

The motors in the MCS series are all CE, GOST and cURus certified. They can be flexibly and conveniently fitted with installed using brake and encoder options and, among other things, standardised Lenze system cables.
