ADLINK Technology Inc. announces the ALS-3206, our latest rackmount Internet security platform. ALS-3206 represents our commitment to network security system integrators and network application software developers to bring forth well engineered network security platforms properly balancing technological inputs and cost.

This product is positioned as a mid range network security appliance, yet straddles high end performance and extensibility as it can be configured for use with an ample range of Intel® processors, including Core™ 2 Duo, Core™ Duo, Core™ Solo and Celeron M processors, the Intel® 945 GME and ICH7R chipsets, and two PCI-X™ and one PCI™ extension slot. The true benefit of ALS-3206 to our customers is our engineering of the two PCI-X™ extension slots as they can be configured to extend to a 4-port Gigabit Ethernet card, and/or used as a network security accelerator. This combination presents an excellent choice for anti-virus software security, content security and PKI software applications.

ALS-3206 was designed with our customers in mind. This product supports a wide range of Intel® processors at low and ultra low configurations to balance performance and power consumption. Specifically it supports the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7400 2.16 GHz processor with 4 MB L2 cache. Customers can also opt to have an Intel® Celeron® M 440 1.86 GHz processor with 1 MB L2 cache. There is a 533/667 MHz front side bus, and up to 4 GB DDRII support via 2 DIMM sockets.

Fore easy access and extended connectivity the ALS-3206 offers six 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN ports in the front panel. There is one RS-232 serial port (DB-9 connector) on board for local system management, maintenance and diagnostics and ALS-3206 provides four SATA II HDD interfaces. There are four USB 2.0 ports, two PS/2 ports and one VGA port, all in a 1U form factor.

Several other features of ALS-3206 are that it supports CompactFlash® for OS and custom Internet security applications. There is a programmable bypass with two sets of built in LAN. Lastly, with the use of an optional PCI-X™ bridge riser card, ALS-3206 offers two PCI-X™ extension slots, a configuration currently rare to the industry.

The ALS-3206 Series is designed to be a cost effective solution for IDS, IPS, UTM, Firewall, VPN gateway, load balance, traffic mining and a several other network security applications. This product is revision controlled as it guarantees long production life support and is FCC and CE compliant.
