Basler Vision Technologies is proud to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary this year! And just ten years after its inception in 1997, Basler's components division has established an extremely promising position among the three global leaders supplying digital camera solutions to capital goods producers.

Getting Started

In 1988, Norbert Basler and his partner set up a project based business to produce customer-specific vision systems aimed mainly at the optical media industry. They soon began to expand the business.

After a few years, the company was flourishing and the first subsidiaries were established in the US and Asia. Basler now employs about 350 people worldwide. Headquartered in Germany, Basler has offices in seven other locations in the US, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, and Japan. In 2006, Basler achieved a turnover of 52.1 million Euro.

Founding of Basler Components
After almost ten years of successfully developing and selling vision systems, the “Machine Vision Components” business unit was established in 1997. The unit prospered and grew into the partner you know today, the Basler Components division.

Basler Components is one of the leading suppliers of digital cameras for industrial users and offers over 100 different camera models incorporating the latest available technologies. Today, about half of Basler’s turnover comes from the Components division.

Quality Standards

Our two decades of machine vision experience is evident in the high quality of all our products. At Basler, quality is a main focus and continuous improvement is a matter of course. We are an ISO 9001:2000 certified company. A comprehensive quality management system with standardized processes is implemented across our organization. This helps to eliminate both redundant processes and procedural errors.

Innovation
We develop new ideas and products with the goal, of course, of meeting the needs and exceeding the expectations of our customers. For example, Basler is very active on different standards committees and is a leader in the development of user-friendly, high-performance interfaces. In fact, we were a driving force behind the establishment of interface standards such as GigE Vision and Camera Link. Based on these efforts and with just ten years in business, Basler Components has established a strong position among the world's three leading suppliers of digital camera solutions for capital goods producers.
