Vertex Golf is a leading provider of high end sports motion analysis systems as well as 3D golf and entertainment simulators. Vertex Golf develops proprietary video and motion analysis systems used by golf facilities, major manufacturers, club-builders, instructors and many golf academies around the world. Their systems are a complex integration of technologies that can measure everything from weight shift and balance during the swing to post-ball strike trajectory, rotation and distance. All of this is accomplished in the confines of a custom designed indoor golf bay.

Vertex Golf partners with Basler Vision Technologies to provide high speed digital camera solutions that integrate easily into their proprietary swing analysis software. Vertex uses multiple Basler camera models with framerate and resolution specifications suited to the specific application. In one example involving putting analysis, Vertex uses a special camera feature (Area of Interest) to attain 600 frames per second for super slow motion image acquisition.

Most recently, Vertex Golf integrated our new high speed GigE Vision-based Basler pilot series camera into their high-end analysis bays. The combination of high speed image capture at full resolution and the flexibility provided by the GigE Vision interface were key factors in their decision to use the new camera. Interface cable lengths up to 100m allow them to easily position the cameras around the golfer to capture virtually any swing angle and increase the flexibility of the entire integrated system.
