ProSoft Technology is thrilled to announce the recent addition of Andreas Somogyi as the Director of Global Marketing. In his new role, Somogyi will be the driving force behind the strategic direction of future product development with the company.

Somogyi began his career with Siemens AG in Vienna, Austria, where he spent ten years as an Engineer. He later accepted a position with Rockwell Automation as the Global Product Manager responsible for automation and industrial network products in Vienna. Because of his success in this role, in 1997 he was asked to move to Cleveland, Ohio for a new position as the Ethernet Product Marketing Manager, where shortly thereafter he was promoted to oversee all EtherNet/IP developments.

With this level of experience Somogyi was a natural fit for ProSoft Technology. On Somogyi’s acceptance of the position, ProSoft Technology President, Douglas Sharratt comments, “Andreas is a well-respected member of the automation community and we are honored to have him joining our team. With his experience in industrial networking and in global product marketing, particularly with one of our largest partners, Andreas offers the unique skill set that will be needed to take us to the next level. As a published writer of more than 50 white papers, articles and book contributions predominately about industrial automation technologies, Somogyi has been an invited speaker at multiple Instrument Society of America (ISA) conferences, Hanover Fair and other global trade shows.

Somogyi has a business and an electrical engineering degree from the High Tech Institution of Vienna.
