Basler Introduces IP Camera Family for the Video Surveillance Market

Basler introduces a comprehensive range of versatile, high performance IP camera models for the video surveillance market. By using a bundle of the latest technologies, these cameras are tailored for excellent image quality and outstanding reliability.

The Basler IP camera family comprises a selection of the best Sony CCD sensors as well as high performance Micron CMOS sensors. With a total of five different models and resolutions ranging from VGA to 2 megapixels, the cameras are a perfect fit for a variety of surveillance applications.

To meet the requirements of various applications and security professionals, Basler IP cameras feature the industry’s first and only complete image compression setup that does not limit resolution. All cameras offer not only multi-level MJEPG compression with multi-streaming options, but also a simultaneous and independent MPEG4 or H.264 streaming possibility while keeping the frame rate at the highest level.

By employing various areas of interest (AOIs), a user can create multiple virtual cameras with different progressive scan resolutions featuring simultaneous viewing of zoomed and full field of view images. In addition, images and streams can be scaled freely to any resolution and aspect ratio promoting optimized bandwidth and maximized storage utilization.

This already comprehensive set of network security and management capabilities is amplified by a large range of standard features such as built-in support for compliant Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af), DC Auto-Iris control functionality, and adaptive bit rate control.

Thanks to the combination of the latest DSP technology and Basler's extensive experience with FPGA programming, these new IP cameras provide unmatched flexibility and numerous benefits for security professionals allowing them to address new applications.
An innovative physical interface housed within a single connector provides not only the possibility of controlling peripheral equipment via RS-232, but also handling external sensors and applying auxiliary power.

The Basler IP camera family comes with an ultra compact all metal housing (89 mm x 29 mm x 44 mm), which makes it the smallest IP camera in its class.

Visitors to the IFSEC 2008 can expect Basler to present the new IP camera product range. We look forward to seeing you at booth 20165 in hall 19. The show will take place from May 12th to the 15th in Birmingham.
