Excellent Ease-of-Use and Flexible Interior Configuration

Rittal expands its console series to include a new one-piece console. In addition to an appealing design and optimum ergonomics, the new Rittal TP one-piece console also boasts maximum flexibility and a broad range of interior configuration options. System-wide access to TS 8 accessories makes for fast and reliable all-round configuration. Thus, Rittal is transferring the benefits of its TopConsole, which was launched in 2007, to another product in the console series.

In addition to an appealing design and optimum ergonomics, the new Rittal TP one-piece console also boasts maximum flexibility and a broad range of interior configuration options.

The human/machine interface demands a high level of flexibility. Consoles must offer sufficient options for expansion and configuration to be able to meet changing requirements. The design is another key factor. In response to these demands, Rittal is expanding its console solutions to include a one-piece console. This console is ideal for use in smaller and medium-sized production facilities that call for decentralized control and monitoring functions.

The new TP one-piece console combines a compact under-desk enclosure with an ergonomically inclined operating area. It also offers numerous options for expansion. For example, a mounting plate, walls and doors can also be added as necessary. The console can be equipped with existing mounting accessories already being used with CM and TS 8 compact and bayed enclosures. Plant designers simply have to add the corresponding rails or sections in accordance with the plug & play principle. Installing components in the substructure achieves significant cost and time savings. The mounting plate (folded over at the side) is inserted into retaining elements at the bottom and secured at the top with clips. Consequently, the fitter has both hands free for screwing in parts, which saves a lot of time.

"Thanks to the flexible and simple interior configuration of the new console, we achieve maximum benefits for the customer with the lowest possible outlay. We were able to offer a successful flexible console in 2007, when we launched our TopConsole system. Now we are adding a new dimension to the series by introducing the TP one-piece console," explains Sascha Preussner-Pfaff, the Rittal product manager responsible for the console series.

The hinged console lid provides sufficient space for installing display units and touchscreen TFTs. The locking system, which was adopted from TopConsole, is easy to open and close with a single fastener and is elegantly integrated into the stylish handle of the console lid.

The TP one-piece console is designed to protection category IP 55 and is available in four widths (600, 800, 1000 and 1200 mm), with standard depth (400 mm) and height (960 mm) dimensions. A choice of gland plates is available. Depending on the planned configuration and cabling, customers can choose from any of the gland plate designs in the CM series. The one-piece console can thus be tailored to meet specific customer requirements.

A screw-fastened base with a height of 100 or 200 mm can be fitted to set the console to the right height for the operator. The stability of the console, particularly during mobile operation with twin castors, is ensured through the use of cross members projecting to the front and rear
