Building Up A Community!

RobotStudio users from all over the world met at the RobotStudio 2008 User Meeting in Milan to enhance their RobotStudio and robot programming skills.

During the two-day event the participants learned about the latest techniques, the fastest and most effective working methods and experienced all the new features in RobotStudio 2008 presented by a select team of the industry's most talented developers and users.

“We are proud to present RobotStudio 2008, the industry's first integrated solution with both offline and online functionality. The latest version of RobotStudio has implemented the ‘Fluent User Interface’ from Microsoft Office 2007. The new UI replaces the previous system of menus and toolbars with a simpler system optimized for efficiency and ease of use,” says Bertil Thovaldsson, Product Manager for RobotStudio.

The meeting left the participants updated, inspired and energized.

“The RobotStudio User Meeting is a great way of getting updated on the latest functionality and new features in RobotStudio. To learn and share experiences with other programmers from different parts of the world is a fantastic opportunity,” says Börkur Jónsson from Össur Ltd, Iceland.

The meeting is part of building up a RobotStudio Community. The User Meeting will be held on three continents this year and in between the meetings the communications will continue on the soon-to-be-launched RobotStudio Community website. The community website will provide a number of interactive ways for robot programmers to share and learn with others, and with ABB.

“ABB encourages open conversation because we believe everyone has something to contribute. We're at our best when we're listening to our customers. On the community website the users will be able to explore the latest forum discussions and blog posts, read and post their ideas, share and download RobotStudio simulations and 3D models, and learn about the latest product features from the interactive tutorials, “ says Tony Holmstedt, Website Community Architect.
