Baldor Electric is pleased to introduce the VS1ST Starter Replacement Microdrive. The VS1ST is available in power ranges from 0.5 to 15 Hp in both single and three-phase versions. Drives offer a very simple user interface that provides “out of the box” solutions for a large portion of variable speed motor applications.

VS1ST drives have been designed to be as simple as possible to apply. Every version is ready to use with simple front panel user interfaces, allowing the drive to be operational in minutes. Although the drives come with only 45 parameters, it can support complex applications. Configurations can be stored in a simple external “memory stick” device and reloaded as required. Modbus RTU communication port is standard and a remote keypad is also available.

Design for easy installation and replacement, every VS1ST drive has pull-apart terminal strips. Simply remove the terminal strip to retrofit the drive unit, no re-wiring required. Frames A and B come standard with DIN Rail, simply snap the drive into place. The drive is ideal for replacement of fixed speed motor starters. Power wiring comes into the top of the drive and out to the motor from the bottom. Separate ground connections are provided for both incoming as well as outgoing power.

Despite the focus on making an economic drive, these drives offer an advance V/Hz control algorithm that provides tight speed regulation. This greatly improves low speed torque, allowing the drive to start even high inertia loads.
