Regnier and Yaskawa Partner To Tear It Up On The Race Track |
Yaskawa Electric America, Inc., headquartered in Waukegan, Ill., is a world leader in the manufacturing of AC drives, servomotors, motion controllers and robotics. The company, who is known for their tagline “The Drive for Quality,” can now be seen tearing it up on the race track. That’s because Yaskawa has teamed up with Adam Regnier of Twin Lakes, Wis., by being one of his sponsors as he competes at the Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. Yaskawa and Regnier have a lot in common and compliment each other quite well, as they are each known for their ability to compete with the best and come out on top. “We’re going to the Front”, the motto for Regnier Racing, is similar as they are always striving to be the best each and every time they take to the track. Regnier, who has been racing for 15 years now and has won an impressive 45 features, made a name and reputation for himself at the Lake Geneva Raceway (LGR), where he used to race from 1993 until it closed after the 2006 season. He went out in style at LGR’s 1/3 mile paved oval, as he won his inaugural championship in 2006 by being the super-stock division champion. He did so by impressively topping the field by accumulating 4,460 points for his efforts, which proved to be 350 ahead of the runner-up. “I contribute a lot of my success over the years to the support of my family and friends,” Regnier said. “The support of my sponsors has been huge as well, as without continued help from them it would be very hard to compete.” Regnier now races at Dells Raceway Park, which is a 1/3 mile asphalt track with nine degree banking in the corners and six degree banking in the straight-a-ways that lies on 38 acres of land and is in its 50th season of operation. He is out to leave his mark at Dells Raceway Park as well, by earning a competitive reputation and living up to his expectations. As of July 5, Regnier was in fourth place out of 27 drivers within the Pure Stock Division with 764 total points on the season. 63 points separate the top five drivers, as Leonard Raupp of Columbus, Wis. leads the field with 814 points. “Racing has always been a big part of my life, as I have been around the race track since I was five years old,” Regnier stated. “As I got older I got more involved by helping others out with their racing careers and then finally decided that it was my turn to take the wheel and start my own journey on the oval.” Regnier leads the pack to claim feature win Due to the weather and unfortunate conditions around the Dells limiting some of the action, Regnier still has participated in all seven of the races that have taken place this year. He has placed in the top 10 in each of the races including the top 5 in five of them. The highlight of the season for Regnier came June 3, when he took home the checkered flag by pacing the field with a first-place finish. His other finishes this racing season consist of a pair of runner-up showings, a third place, a fourth place, and two eighth-place showings. “The best aspects of racing include consistently having solid runs, having the support of the crowd and being able to work through the field and winning,” Regnier added. “The toughest part consists of being involved in accidents and having mechanical failures, as they get pretty expensive and take a toll on your success.” The Pure Stock Division feature production-based cars that typically ride on full-factory frames. They are heavy and hard to handle, making it an exciting and competitive class to watch and compete in. Racing takes place every Saturday night at the track running from May through mid-October. So if you happen to be in the Wisconsin Dells, stop by and cheer on Regnier in the No. 73 Yaskawa car.
