Yamatake Corporation has announced that, from October 1, 2008, the Yamatake Group will be known as the azbil Group.

In October 2006, the new Group philosophy of “human-centered automation” was established together with, the Group symbol that represents that philosophy. Both philosophy and symbol have since been fully implemented by all Group companies.

Yamatake has started several “human-centered automation” initiatives. In the Building Automation business, we apply original environmental control technologies to create business and production spaces where people can work efficiently and in comfort, while at the same time contributing to reducing the environmental load. In the Advanced Automation business, we are expanding the advanced measurement and control technologies we have developed over many years, as we aim to realize production sites that enable workers to develop their own skills in safety through cooperation with our customers. And in the Life Automation business, we are developing the business foundation for contributing to “people’s active lives,” as well as promoting the integration of Kimmon Manufacturing’s businesses.

Now, almost two years since the Group philosophy and azbil were adopted, this initiative is well established, and the time has come for the Yamatake Group to be renamed, becoming the azbil Group. This move will give added impetus to strengthening coordination and synergies within the Group. With this change in the Group’s name, Yamatake will redouble its commitment to advancing the Group’s unique “human-centered automation” businesses. By consistently emphasizing businesses, products and services that are representative of the azbil Group, and continuing to develop businesses unique to the azbil Group, Yamatake will foster azbil as the Group brand.

Since its founding in 1906, Yamatake has continued to evolve with the changing times. Today, Yamatake and the azbil Group are pursuing “human-centered automation,” our new concept of automation as well as the core of the value we create.
