Turck Expands BL20-I/O-familiy with New Low Priced Ethernet-Gateways That Include Power Supply Units and Switches |

Turck extends its BL-20-I/O system with cost-effective Turck now offers new Ethernet-Gateways with integrated switches for its BL20-I/O system. The Ethernet standard easily integrates the BL20 economy gateways into established communication structures – since Ethernet is the native interface for the most common control systems, from PCs to HMIs. These compact BL20-Ethernet-Gateways follow the trend towards ongoing decentralisation, and enable the user to install versatile control devices in environments with limited space. In addition, the BL20-Gateways are the most cost-effective I/O solution for IP20 environments – even compared to CANopen-Gateways. The new Gateways are only 33 millimeters wide and include a power supply unit, as well as a switch. In this way, they enable the user to effectively reduce installation und maintenance costs. Each Gateway has two RJ45 ports that support the most common Ethernet fieldbus protocols: Modbus TCP and Ethernet/IP. In spite of their small housings, the new Gateways provide the full functionality of the established BL20 system. Being based on easy-to-change electronic components with up to 32 I/O points, the new Gateways support a variety of different signal forms – from digital and analog I/O, through Turck’s BL ident RFID solution, to direct or reversing motor starters with up to 15 kW.
