Yamatake Establishes A Valve Maintenance Center in Taiwan

Yamatake Corporation is pleased to announce that on October 1, 2008, Yamatake Taiwan Co., Ltd. (YTW) opened the YTW Maintenance Center in Kaohsiung, southwestern Taiwan. This new facility will ensure improved service for local customers, conducting maintenance for control valves and other equipment. On October 17, 100 customers attended a ceremony to mark the opening.

The total number of Yamatake control valves sold in Taiwan has already passed the 10,000 mark, and consequently there is a strong demand from customers there – principally those in the chemical and food industries – for control valve maintenance services. Previously local distributors were responsible for such maintenance; however, equipped with dedicated facilities and specialized jigs, the new maintenance center is able to offer high-quality, rapid-response service by skilled staff familiar with azbil products and technologies. YTW aims to establish a lifecycle business for control valves, ranging from sales, delivery and installation, to adjustment, maintenance and quality control.

The Maintenance Center has started operating with five employees under the direction of Manager Satoshi Kimura. With a focus on serving the chemical and food industry plants that have already installed Yamatake control valves, YTW forecasts sales of 42 million yen in 2009 and 153 million yen by 2012.

Following the Group philosophy of “human-centered automation”, the azbil Group, headed by Yamatake Corporation, will make use of the new Maintenance Center to offer services and solutions tailored to customer needs.
