Titled the “EPLAN Competence Center S.E.A.”, the operation aims to offer its S.E.A. customers the most up-to-date in engineering software solutions for their every need.

IA News managed to conduct a unique interview with the key players in EPLAN’s Malaysian subsidiary, when all four of them set across the table from members of the IA team ! These were :

Dieter started off by stating the obvious – that to implement an integrated system, a design is needed. This is where EPLAN comes in, as it basically “puts life into design systems”. The EPLAN PLATFORM provides engineers with functional engineering to help them satisfy customer needs, whilst the Company also provides consultancy services and training to help their customers achieve their objectives. What gives EPLAN its’ competitive edge is the fact that it is based on customer feedback, and the fact that system works well when its components work in synchronicity.

Another advantage of the EPLAN PLATFORM is that it provides a data portal, linking customers and vendors, and allows all stakeholders to liaise together in an intelligent manner.

Interesting elements of the management’s philosophy include the fact that they are creating an e-plan community within South East Asia region. To this end, feedback from end users is encouraged so that the Company can initiate the process of educating Malaysian customers about the EPLAN PLATFORM.

It also support and collaborate with institutes of further education including introducing the e-plan laboratory concept. EPLAN Competence Center S.E.A has also approached Government and private sector bodies such as MIDA, the FMM and the Institute of Engineers in Malaysia, with a view to creating awareness of the Company’s products and services, and benefits the Malaysian industry as a whole. The center is taking the efforts and initiatives keeping the world of CAE Engineering above par, to grow and to remain its competitiveness especially during the economy downturn where a business can achieved of up to 80% of productivity gains by changing over to EPLAN platform.
