With the proven cross roller bearings of RA, RA-C, RB and RE type THK offers a wide product range for different applications. The cylindrical rollers in these bearings are separated by spacers. Roller skewing and friction between the rollers, reducing the bearings performance, is hereby prevented. The special construction of the cross roller bearing allows smooth motion with low friction and reduced lubrication requirements.

Cross roller bearing RW

With the new RU series, THK presents a new generation of cross roller bearings. The new RU type is a very compact, single-row cylindrical roller bearing for high axial and radial loads and moment stress, and the one-piece inner and outer rings provide very high rigidity. The mounting holes are integrated in the rings, enabling easy design and quick mounting. Special housings or fixtures are not necessary. Significant cost savings are possible thanks to the reduced number of pieces and the easy mounting. The type RU is available in the sizes 42 to 445, additional versions can be provided upon request.

New bearing type

The second new cross roller bearing series RW enlarges THK’s product range of rotary bearings by a double-row type. This high-rigidity roller bearing allows a very compact design and can also be used with high rotational speeds. Compared with the single-row cross roller ring of RU type, the new bearing achieves double rigidity, which is realized by the double-row geometry in DB-contact but retains compact design. With the highly precise machined one-piece inner and outer rings, a rotational accuracy of up to 2.5 µm is achieved in the premium USP-class. The relatively small roller diameter results in only minimal differential slip and low starting torque. Additional feature are the integrated mounting holes, substantially reducing time and efforts for mounting.
