SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2008: Lenze Adds 12” Version to HMI Portfolio |
|
L-force controls portfolio complete for HMI segment Lenze has added a 12” version to its tried and tested L-force HMI family for Windows® CE. The specialist in drive and automation technology thus completes its range of touch panel solutions with screen diagonals of between 5.7” and 12”. The new EL 112 is ideal for machine-oriented use because it has a compact design, operates without a hard disk or fan and consumes small volumes of power. The powerful XScale CPU has sufficient power reserves for extensive visualisation applications and can also be combined with a soft PLC. The standard CANopen interface simplifies system integration, making the EL 112 the ideal solution for demanding human-machine interfaces and compact automation solutions. HMIs can be organised in an ergonomic and economically-viable manner thanks to the new 12” touch panel from the EL-100 family. The large screen is big enough to depict even the most complex production processes and large machines and systems. Thanks to the integrated touch display, there is no need for any electro-mechanical keys. The EL 112 therefore simplifies the user’s job of standardising or modifying the human-machine interface using the Windows® CE environment. A powerful XScale processor, which has been developed especially for embedded applications and can easily cope with more extensive visualisation applications, supplies the right level of computing power. The CPU’s outstanding energy efficiency ensures that the EL 112, like all the other devices in the series, requires no active cooling. A push card slot is integrated in the housing to accommodate SD memory cards which can be used to store the application program and the archive and recipe data. When combined with the resistant aluminium front (protection class IP65), the reliable Wanless and hard disk-free panel is particularly well suited to use in tough industrial environments and on the machine itself. The integrated interfaces (CAN, USB, Ethernet, RS232) allow the HMIs to be easily incorporated in the machine architecture and higher-level company network. VisiWinNet® is used to produce the visualisation application. Lenze’s visualisation platform covers the whole range – from compact HMIs, based on the EL-100 series, to complex SCADA systems, running on industrial PC platforms. The development environment is based on state-of-the-art Microsoft technology and has been optimised for the particular requirements of automation technology. Two versions (Smart and Professional) ensure that both experienced programmers and occasional users find the right working environment to produce their visualisation applications.
