New RMS Motion Sensors Are Opening Doors!

Pepperl+Fuchs introduces the new RMS series motion sensors. Four new microwave-based overhead sensors detect movement, specifically of traffic approaching automatic pedestrian doors. RMS series can be used with sliding, swinging, folding, and revolving doors.

RMS Series features include:
• Easy installation and set-up
• Available with optional remote control for added convenience
• Can ignore traffic moving past door instead of towards door
• Three direction sensing options
• Programmable for even very slow movement detection
• Reduces energy costs by not opening door for stationary people
• Immunity setting can eliminate effects of rain, vibrations
• ANSI 156.10 compliant as activation device
• Fully FCC compliant for use in the U.S.

Unlike with IR (infrared) or PIR (passive infrared) sensors, RMS series' microwave technology is insensitive to the color of the target, is immune to sunlight and ambient light, and can even be mounted within some enclosures. RMS can also cover a much wider area (up to 3m x 2.5m) at a greater mounting height (up to 4m) than IR or PIR models.
