Leading the Evolution in Embedded Design

Advantech Embedded Design-in Forum Advances Business Success
Taipei, Taiwan, March 10, 2010 –Advantech, the world’s leading IPC and eAutomation provider, held its first Advantech Embedded Design-In Forum (ADF) on March, 3. At this inaugural event, key industry players such as AU Optronics, Intel, Microsoft, TI, Tyco Elo Touch Systems, Wind River, and a number of leading partners attended. Together, they jointly showcased the latest embedded technologies, trends, and innovative concepts, as well as practical development tools for embedded development engineers and system integrators.
With the advancement of technology and fast-changing market demands, the IT industry is facing a major transformation. Vendors need to provide specialist products quickly to meet the growing demand for intelligent terminals and automation equipment. Advantech CEO K.C. Liu stated, “Being just a board provider does not fulfill the customers’ needs any more. Based on our long-time embedded experience, we not only provide total solutions, but also understand the range of needs within the customers’ product design process. As a result, Advantech now provides a full range of embedded platforms, but also integrates them with all of our internal and external resources to provide a range of specialist design-in services. The new business model, Embedded Core Services, includes full participation with the customer in the design phase: from planning, board design, design validation, and system integration phases, all the way to mass production. At each stage, the customer can find services exactly suited to their needs. These total solutions can satisfy the specific needs of each customer and meet their time-to-market goals.
For a long time, Advantech only specialized in a ‘limited product diversity’ service model, during which we discovered the unique design needs of our customers. In short, we realized there are more services we could provide—from buying the motherboard right through to product completion. That’s why we integrated our internal and external resources to create special integration services such as: Software Solutions, Design-in Services, along with Embedded Core Services to provide total solutions for customers,” said Liu.
In order to enable customers to fully understand the advantages of this new service model, Advantech organized the Advantech Embedded Design-In Forum (ADF) which was designed to draw together embedded systems engineers, software development engineers, R&D engineers, and industrial technology leaders to address and discuss the latest developments in Embedded Design.
The first ADF took place in Taipei, Taiwan on March 3rd. subsequent, forums will be held in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Germany, South Korea, Japan, America, and other countries. Among the many topics discussed in ADF are: embedded computing trends, Advantech Design-in Services, embedded design services and technology innovations, telecom design services, and embedded peripheral integration. ADF helps everyone take advantage of changing technology and advances business success through collaboration with other industry leaders and experts. As a leader in embedded computing, Advantech demonstrates its commitment to developing advanced services for clients through this forum—ushering in a new evolution in embedded design.
