Intermach Bangkok 19-22 May 2011

One of the reasons for such strong growth is the large increase in orders from overseas. Thailand’s central location in the heart of South East Asia, plus its quality workforce and outstanding logistic services, have made it the choice of big players in all these industries.

Strong export growth, public investment and the government’s new Mega projects like the Bangkok Mass Transit System, new high-speed double railway lines and Suvarnabhumi airport Phase 2, are making Thailand’s manufacturing industry very attractive indeed.

2011 is now shaping up to be a dynamic time for business in Thailand. The Thai Board of Investment (BOI) has just reported that project applications for the first 4 months of the year increased by 53% to 413 projects valued at 135.8 billion Baht. For the first quarter, total investment in automotive, machinery, sheet metal, electronic and electric industry was worth over 106 billion baht.

The international auto industry alone is investing hundreds of millions of dollars in major new assembly plants and eco-car facilities are being built here for companies like Ford, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Honda, Suzuki and Nissan. For 2010 –auto manufacturers in Thailand expect to manufacture about 1.6 million vehicles, with 1.8 million in 2011, 2 million in 2012, 2.2 million in 2013 and 2.5 million by 2015. The most popular vehicles will be pick-up trucks and eco-cars.

The electronic and electrical industries are also following the same golden path. The Thai Electrical Appliance and Electronics industry just reported that the first quarter of 2010 saw their industries grow by around 33.34% over 2009. Overall the industry is projecting export value to be up by some 50%.In the second quarter of 2010 the Electrical Appliance industry is expected to increase by 23.37% compared to the same period last year. The Electronics industry is expected to grow by 56.2%.

Since its first event in 1984INTERMACH has grown to become a valued partner of the Thai manufacturing industry. Every year we strive to improve the event with new features such as International Pavilions and informative programs of Seminars and Conferences delivered by experts in their field.

Operating on a Global-to-Local and Local-to-Global stage INTERMACH is also perfectly timed for the start of the buying season in May.

For 28 years, INTERMACH has hosted quality trade visitors who come to buy machinery and inspect new technology. It has proven to be the No 1 place to do business and meet new customers. Final tally for business transactions during 2010’s four day event is expected to exceed 1 billion Baht. And a further 500 million is expected in follow-up deals.

At INTERMACH “Quality” is reflected in everything we do…

“Quality of equipment”– covers over 12,000 exhibitors and more than 3,500 pieces of high-tech machinery from the world’s leading manufacturers - some of it being shown for the first time in Asia.

“Quality of presentation”– refers to important industrial Seminars and Conferences that are held throughout the show including the Automotive Conference and special Japanese Seminars targeting Japanese investors in Thailand.

“Quality of our trade visitors”includes high-caliber Thai and foreign business executives and decision-makers, including Presidents, CEOs, Managing Directors, Factory and Production Managers, Purchasing Managers, and Engineers – the people who make INTERMACH unique. Originally conceived as an exhibition where manufacturers would just display machinery, many exhibitors now use the show as a Regional Premiere to launch new technology. This has made the event more spectacular in nature and INTERMACH has become famous as a place to do business on the spot.

SUBCON Thailand is the only exhibition for the subcontracting industry in the Kingdom. When it joined forces as a sub-show with INTERMACH several years ago, Subcon exhibitors found that being under the same roof with INTERMACH was of great benefit to both parties.

Subcon Thailand exhibitors are both customers and potential customers for INTERMACH exhibitors. When exhibitors do well Subcon companies look for machines that help cut costs, increase production capability and add value to give them a competitive advantage…just another quality reason that makes INTERMACH 2011 one of the most important events of the Thai Manufacturing Industry for 2011.
