INTERMACH 2011 EXCEEDS ALL EXPECTATIONS
INTERMACH, SUBCON Thailand and Sheet Metal Asia 2011, organized by UBM Asia (Thailand) turned out to be a major success for all - one of the best shows ever. The three partner events are now considered a driving force behind dozens of new business partnerships which are making a significant contribution to the booming Thai economy.
Originally conceived as an exhibition where manufacturers would just display equipment, INTERMACH has evolved into an event that buyers and manufacturers now use as a central meeting point - the perfect place to premiere new technology and products.
SUBCON Thailand offers both challenge and opportunity. It attracts expert contractors who are seeking quality manufacturing sources. And Tier 1 Part manufacturers come looking for reliable contractors. A mutually beneficial situation.
Sheet Metal Asia is the largest and most complete showcase of Sheet Metal fabrication machinery in the region and is now considered a must-attend event for leading brands in the industry.
The total number of trade visitors for all three shows covering the four day event was 33,016. Arrivals were from 35 countries –very impressive figures and a 20% increase from the previous year. There was also a 25% increase in overseas visitors. The number of business transactions from the event is believed to be valued at around 7.4 billion baht, with more expected in follow-up deals. At SUBCON Thailand, there were 3,109 pairings – and increased business matchmaking took place at the show with buyers from 14 countries.
Mr. Sanchai Noombunnam, the Show Director said, “INTERMACH and Sheet Metal Asia are the first machinery exhibitions of the year and are perfectly timed with the manufacturing industry’s buying cycle. Many exhibitors took the opportunity to present their latest technology and launch products for the first time in Asia.”
“This year there were also many important seminars throughout the four day event. These events attracted over 2,500 people many of whom were decision makers, VIPs and important people in the manufacturing industry. Seminars related to the automotive industry proved to be very popular,” the Director added.
Mr. Chanin Khaochan, Director of the BOI Unit for Industrial Linkage Development (BUILD), Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) and co-oragniser of SUBCON Thailand 2011, said that “trade visitors and buyers increased 30% over the previous year. There were many oversea buyers from foreign countries, especially Japan. Contributing to the show’s success were overseas offices that helped invite buyers to the exhibition.”
Business matching saw 3,109 meetings take place at SUBCON Thailand. And surveys conducted after each meeting revealed that 76% of participants believed the program to be positive. During the 3-day event, partnerships believed to be worth around 5.4 billion baht were transacted.
